On October 1, 2004, the Plainview-Old Bethpage High School had a dedication ceremony honoring three young men whose lives were taken during the Vietnam War. A plaque bearing the names of Private First Class Eric Donn Saltz, Specialist James Joseph Bolson, and Staff Sergeant John Jay Janoska Jr. was unveiled next to the flagpole at the main entrance to Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School.
